Voice management
« on: July 06, 2005, 02:10:16 AM »

Hi,

in which way is voice managed? as i understand it's generated on server, and then send to flash as a stream, is it some software of your own, it's software you must buy or it is involved? or it is free software I can download anywhere?
Thanks

you can record voice with any recording software that is available to you. I use Audacity, which is open source. Just put the audio files in the /alfredo/soundfiles/ directory, together with their corresponding amplitude files (see "Generating the amplitude files - the free way" in Customization) and Alfredo'll do the rest.

so I have to record all answers? Smiley uff, that's too much for real intellingent dialog between 2 person (1 person 1 bot) It would be great to have some type fo voice generator on server, generate sound and send it to flash instead. Because for too many mp3 you need bigger storage on web server.

it should be sufficient for a salesbot, a FAQbot, a receptionist bot, a bot to show visitors around your site, a greeting bot, an inventory bot, a customer support bot, a store manager bot, a software assistant bot... But i'll certainly keep your suggestion in mind, thanks.
