NAI/AIML, how is it intended to work in practice?
« on: September 11, 2005, 12:24:24 PM »

Hello,

I found the implementation of bots (Mambo) and NAI very exciting.
I even checked some theory about AIML, alicebot etc. There is a lot of descriptions. Unfortunately I am missing some description about how it is intend to work - not installtion, not description of AIML NAI and so on.

Supose I want enhance the intelligens of a bot. Is there som kind of editor to create or adapt, store, new chategories (pattern+template)?

I am not wory about installing but more about this issue, how, if possible, assist my bot in learning?

Actualy, what are the features covered and how find documentation?

Thanks,
George P.

Hi,

NAI is just a very simple language and the short description here is pretty much exhaustive. It is primarily intended to simulate intelligence with a very limited number of operators. Have a chat with Alf to see some of the possibilities.

AIML, on the other hand, has a lot more to offer. The editor i use is AIMLpad. The tutorials go as far as to include example scripts to make your bot add new categories while chatting.

Have fun,
Ned
